Proxyma (proxyma.space) is a free Chrome extension that routes your browser traffic through a proxy server you choose. This page explains exactly what we collect and what we don't.
When you connect through the extension, we log an anonymous connection record: a timestamp, the country you connected to, and the connection duration. Apart from the error reports described below, that's the entire list.
While “Send error reports” is on in Settings (it is on by default), the extension and the Proxyma VPN apps send us a short technical log so we can fix connection problems: connect and disconnect events, error messages, the version of the extension or app, your operating system and browser, a random installation identifier, and the country determined from your IP address (the IP address itself is not stored). Addresses of the sites you visit are removed on your device before sending and once more on our server. You can turn the reports off in Settings at any time; in Firefox, the add-on's technical data setting in about:addons turns them off too.
We do not log the sites you visit, page content, search queries, form data, or anything that identifies you personally. The extension has no access to your browsing history — it only has permission to configure the browser's proxy settings.
Anonymous connection records and error reports are kept for 30 days, then permanently deleted. We don't sell, share, or otherwise use this data beyond basic service health monitoring and fixing connection problems.
The popup shows contextual ads to cover server costs. These ads are matched to general context, never to your individual browsing history — we don't build a profile of you. After you press Connect — in the extension or in the Proxyma VPN apps — a partner's page opens in your browser a few seconds later. It is picked by the same general context (your country, language and the location you chose), never by your browsing history. Its link may carry your country, language and a random one-time identifier, so the partner can tell us whether the visit led to a sign-up or purchase; nothing that identifies you personally is sent.
The extension requests proxy, storage, alarms, webRequest, and webRequestAuthProvider, plus <all_urls> host access. That broad host access exists for one reason: once you're connected, every site you visit is routed through the proxy, and Chrome only lets us auto-supply the proxy's login credentials (via webRequest.onAuthRequired) for destinations covered by that permission — without it, you'd get a login prompt on every single site. It is not used to read, log, or target ads against your browsing history.
Traffic is routed through third-party proxy servers and network providers. We don't control what those providers log on their end, though our own logging stays limited to the anonymous records described above.
